How they work
An acoustic pathway lets ambient sound pass through the plug while the tip and sealing wing keep water out of the ear canal. That is the whole design goal: protection you can still hear through, because a plug that makes you feel deaf is a plug you stop wearing.

Get it right in the first ten minutes
Start with the medium wing and medium tip in both ears. Twist back gently until the wing sits under the ridge of your ear. If one side feels loose or uncomfortable, change that ear only - most people end up with two different sizes.

Do SEAR Plugs prevent surfer's ear?
Yes. Surfer's ear (exostosis) is bone growth in the ear canal caused by cold water and wind reaching it session after session. SEAR Plugs keep both out, which removes the cause. Wear them every session. If you already have symptoms, see a doctor.
How many decibels do they block? Is it 9 dB?
SEAR Plugs cut 9 dB in the high frequencies, where wind roar and splash noise sit (H 9 dB, SNR 6 dB, tested to EN 352-2 on 16 people). Voices, waves and your surroundings stay clear.
Are they medical-grade silicone? Are they hypoallergenic?
Made from soft, hypoallergenic, medical-grade silicone that stays comfortable through long sessions. The silicone is independently tested by SGS and passes EU REACH (all 251 substances of very high concern), RoHS and POPs regulations and the US TSCA rules, with no PVC, halogens or nitrosamines detected.
Are they completely waterproof?
