Twelve combinations. One that's yours.
SEAR Plugs use four wing sizes and three tip sizes, creating twelve possible fit combinations. All of them are in the box - there is no size to choose at checkout. Your left and right ears can use different combinations, and for most people they do.

Medium wing, medium tip, both ears. That is the middle of the grid and it fits the largest share of people. Adjust one variable at a time from there.

Four steps, once
01 · HOLD
Hold the plug by the wing, tip pointing into the canal. Leash toward the back of your head.
02 · TWIST
Push in gently, then rotate backwards until the wing tucks under the ridge of your ear. Do not force it.
03 · CHECK
Sound should dull but stay present. Tug lightly - the plug should not move. Repeat on the other ear separately.
04 · TEST
First session, stay close to shore. Note which ear moves - that is the one to size up.

When it isn't working
One plug keeps working loose
Size the wing up on that ear only. Ears are rarely symmetrical and mixing sizes is the intended use, not a compromise.
Water still gets in
Size the tip up. If the plug then will not seat fully, go back down and check the wing is properly tucked under the ridge - an unseated plug is the usual cause.
My outer ear aches after an hour
The wing is too large. Drop one size - security comes from the wing sitting under the ridge, not from pressure against it.
I can't hear my crew
Ambient sound passes through the acoustic pathway, but it is not the same as open ears. If sound is fully cut off, the plug is likely seated too deep - remove and reseat more shallowly.
How do I clean them?
Rinse in fresh water after use, dry fully, and store them in the case. Do not use solvents or boiling water.
